MHFA Employer Resources

Training works better when systems support it.

Use these tools to clarify the First Aider role, prepare managers, improve response pathways, and continue learning after team training.

Implementation priorities

Care needs organizational follow-through.

The Employer Success Kit gives leaders a practical starting point for the first 30 days after training.

Clarify the role

Mental Health First Aiders notice, approach, listen, reassure, and connect. They do not replace clinicians, emergency teams, HR, or management.

Map response pathways

Make crisis, EAP, benefits, HR, accommodation, and community resources easy to find before someone needs them.

Prepare managers

Discuss observable changes without diagnosing, offer resources, and keep performance and support conversations clear.

Review the system

Examine workload, policy, escalation, confidentiality, psychological safety, and leadership follow-through.

Debrief at 30 days

Ask what learners used, where procedures were unclear, and what organizational practice should change.

Continue learning

Schedule refreshers and implementation reviews so skills do not disappear after the course.

Build the infrastructure around the training.

WVW supports organizations with group training, refresher education, leadership development, psychological safety, and workplace wellbeing.
